Hi there, I'm Jake Sulzer. Welcome to our State Farm office in Portsmouth, OH!

From explaining a bill change to helping protect a business or income, our goal is to make sure our customers understand their options and feel supported every step of the way. As a ChFC, I also enjoy helping customers prepare for retirement and work toward their long-term financial goals.

My journey to helping families began with earning a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Ohio University in 2012. I have proudly served State Farm customers for nearly a decade, and in 2023 I earned my ChFC® designation to provide even greater guidance for customers preparing for both everyday risks and their financial future. What keeps me passionate about this work is the relationships I build with my customers and my team. Our office has developed a family atmosphere over the years. Two team members have been with me since the beginning, another for five years, and our newest team member for two years. We celebrate successes together, support one another, and genuinely enjoy helping the people we serve.

Outside the office, I'm a proud father who stays busy cheering on my boys at soccer and baseball games. Family time is what I value most. We enjoy spending time at Mound Park in Portsmouth, fishing on the Scioto River, visiting Roosevelt Lake in Shawnee State Forest, cooking on the grill, using my cast iron skillet, and gardening. Our family also includes two dogs, a husky and a Maltese, along with three cats. I'm passionate about supporting our community and am involved with the Hilltop Initiative Neighborhood Association, which is helping raise funds to rebuild the playground at Mound Park. Being able to serve my neighbors and connect with customers around town is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
